Koreshan State Park

Facilities include: areas for camping, fishing, hiking, boating, tours and picnics. Cypress Reed Teed brought his followers to Estero in 1894 to build New Jerusalem for his new faith Koreshanity. The colony began fading and in 1961 the last four members deeded the land to the state. A wide variety of wildlife is found along the Estero River and bird watching is at its best here with over 100 bird species represented. The park has 60 wooded campsites; twelve are designated for tent camping only. All sites have electric, water, a grill and table. Pets are permitted with current vaccination papers. There are many other camper related amenities, a boat ramp and canoe rentals. Visitors can take self-guided tours or a ranger-guided tour.
